“Each cancer and the person it afflicts is unique. In addition to individualized, evidence-based management of the disease, treatment requires care and attention to the patient’s beliefs and personal choices,” says Dr. Brij M. Sood, a board certified radiation oncologist and director of the PinnacleHealth Cancer Center. “Quality of life, pain management and end of life issues have made a deep impact on me at a personal level and play an equally important role in my practice. I bring this focus to my position as director of the PinnacleHealth Cancer Center.”
Comprehensive patient care is Dr. Sood’s priority. He brings nearly 30 years of clinical experience as an oncologist to his role as director with five years in surgical oncology and the remainder as a radiation oncologist. He is the director of the radiation oncology department and PinnacleHealth Cancer Center.
Fascinated by rapidly evolving research and technology in the field of oncology, Dr. Sood participates in both clinical and basic research and has published more than 45 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. His passion for academics has led him to teach Residents and Fellows continuously since his graduation from medical school in 1977.
