Irina Veytsman, MD
Dr. Veytsman, joins PinnacleHealth from MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She previously was a Hematology/Oncology attending physician for the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Current Molecular Pharmacology and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Lung Cancer Society. She is certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology and is fluent in English and Russian. She was a chair of Cancer Committee Washington Hospital Center, co-chair of Thoracic, Brain, Head and Neck Cancer MedStar Cancer Network. She is principal investigator on multiple research trials for lung cancer and head and neck cancer. She has been awarded “Top Washingtonian Doctors” by her peers in 2014.
Dr. Veytsman received her medical degree from Kazan State Medical University, Kazan, Russia, where she also completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. She completed another residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. She then completed the Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD. Dr. Veytsman will serve as the director of the Hematology/Oncology program.
Amit Barochia, MD
Dr. Barochia joins PinnacleHealth from the department of Hematology/Oncology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He completed his medical training at B.J. Medical College (Gujarat University) in Ahmedabad, India, and his residency and fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Brochia is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the American Society of Hematology.
Dr. Lee joins our Medical Oncology team from Georgetown University Hospital Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she completed a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Lee has special expertise in breast medical oncology and is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Lee completed her medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and her residency at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Lee will see patients at the new Ortenzio Cancer Center at PinnacleHealth.
Dr. Li specializes in Hematology/Oncology and was an assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University. He has special interest in reproductive and urinary malignancies, in addition to immune therapy. He has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals in immunology. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Hematology and Medical Oncology. He completed his medical training and residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Brunswick, NJ, and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health.
Kit Lu, MD
Dr. Lu joins our Medical Oncology team specializing in breast medical oncology. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and served as chief fellow at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health. She received her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee and completed her residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.
Dr. Martyr specializes in Hematology/Oncology and is board certified in Internal Medicine. She completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, where she served as chief fellow. She completed her medical education at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and her residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital.
