Raymond Kostin, MD
Dr. Kostin is Chairman of the PinnacleHealth Department of Surgery. He is a board-certified general and thoracic surgeon who has been treating patients at Harrisburg Hospital for more than 25 years. One of the region’s most trusted and respected surgeons, Dr. Kostin is an expert in lung, esophageal and other thoracic cancer surgeries.
Dr. Kostin completed a general surgery residency at Harrisburg Hospital and a cardiothoracic fellowship at Toronto General Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is also Program Director of PinnacleHealth’s surgical residency program.
Troy Moritz, DO, FACOS
Dr. Moritz is a skilled thoracic surgeon who specializes in providing a minimally invasive approach to diagnosis, work-up, staging and treatment. He is experienced with general thoracic surgery; minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including video assisted thoracic lobectomy; bronchoscope and endoscopic treatment of pulmonary and esophageal disease; and oncologic thoracic surgery.
Dr. Moritz served as Chief Resident during his general surgery residency at PinnacleHealth’s Community Campus. He completed a cardiothoracic surgical fellowship at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery..
Dr. Moritz is the surgical director of PinnacleHealth’s Pulmonary Nodule Clinic
and director of the Lung Cancer Screening
John Lazar, MD
Dr. Lazar comes to PinnacleHealth from a prestigious advanced fellowship in robotic and minimally invasive thoracic oncology. Prior to that, he was in a fellowship in thoracic surgery at the University of Rochester, a national leader in esophageal surgery, as well as complex minimally invasive video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) pulmonary resections. Dr. Lazar achieved his Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint George University. Subsequently, he completed his general surgical residency at Harrisburg Hospital. His thoracic interests include development of new technologies for minimally invasive thoracic surgery, applying multidisciplinary approaches to improve long-term survival/quality of life for thoracic cancer patients, and using lung cancer screening to reach medically neglected communities without access to oncological care.
